First Day of School

I can't believe my baby girl started school today. I enrolled her at St. Leo the Great Catholic school. She is in there pre-kindergarten class in order to guarantee her a spot in the kindergarten class next year. The school only has one classroom per grade with a max of 30 students per class. She will be here until she starts high school. The school has a great reputation and high scores for testing. The only downside is he needs to wear a uniform, but the plus side, is it saves me money on clothes. We have had a busy summer, with the amusement park, zoo, picnics, beach days, pool parties, the wiggles show, the circus, disney on ice...can I say SPOILED.......That's ok it is just as much fun for me as it is for her. Next up we have a picnic from my adoption agency and then Disneyland in November for her birthday and whatever else I can squeeze in. Hope everyone is doing great out there and hope to talk to you soon.

May 2010

Well I know I haven't posted anything in a while. It just seems like there is not enough time in the day to get things done. We spent a few hours today at the beach so the first picture is of me and her at the beach. I have now signed Johanah up for cooking class. Those of you who really know me, should know how important this is to me (I hate cooking). Johanah on the other hand loves it and can't wait until the next class. She is still taking swimming, gymnastics, soccer and now cooking. In case you haven't figurered it out yet, there is no time for me to get things done, that's ok as long as she is having fun. Johanah has been asking to go on a plane ride so I booked a trip to LA ( in 2 weeks) to go visit our friends Mark and Evelyn whom we met when we lived in Guatemala. Should be a great weekend and it is only 1 hr 10 min flight for us. Next weekend she is in her first gymnastics show so can't wait. Johanah got accepted into the Catholic school and starts in August. I can't believe how time flies. I was just thinking that last week 3 years ago, I got on a plane to Guatemala to see her for the first time and become a mom. I was told it would only be about 4-5 weeks and then both of us would be coming home, 6 months later and an experience and great friends that will last forever we finally came home. That seem unbelievable that is has been 3 years already.
Anyway, enjoy the pictures until next time.

New Adventures

Well we have been busy with sports and birthdays. We have now started soccer lessons which I have to say are her favorite right now, and we are still doing gymnastics. I decided that we would take a break from dance and swimming this time around so that I can get a feel of what she really enjoys. The month of January was kind of slow for us, it was my brothers birthday and anytime she can spend with her Tio and Tia is the best in her eyes. I am progressing in my Spanish lessons and feel that I am getting closer to being able to communicate when I go back to Guatemala (hopefully by the end of the year). I have put an application in for Johanah for a Pre-K class at a local Catholic school. I can't believe she is only 3 and I am already getting ready for the fall when she turns 4. I won't know if she has been accepted until early April but keeping my fingers crossed. I can't believe they have a screening process for Pre-K class... At the end of this month we are going to see Disney on Ice (for the second time) but this time I got tickets in the second row from the ice, we will see how she likes that. Also the local ice rink (where the Sharks (hockey) practice) are giving a free class for 3-6 year old on ice skating and hockey so we might give that a try as well. Talk to everyone soon

X-Mas

I am not very good about posting, but here are some pictures from Christmas. The green boots actually are like rain boots and have alligators (I think) on them and she wants to wear them everywhere. Santa brought her a new bike, candyland, and dolls and some clothes. She finally was moved out of the 25/2T clothes. So we had to get all new clothes, but the 3T and too long and don't fit the waist. I need to get the ones with adjustable waists so they don't fall off. Come February I am enrolling her in a catholic pre K program that will start in August. I love this school and it is 50% English and 50% Spanish so she won't lose what she already know, which by the way is more than I know. Johanah is definitely got the 3 year old attitude so we are trying to nip that in the butt, but otherwise she awesome. She is still doing gymnastics, and swimming but lately has been asking about soccer, so I guess we will enroll in that after the first of the year. Talk to everyone soon

My 3rd birthday

I went to Disneyland for my 3rd birthday and had so much fun. We rode all the rides and saw almost all the characters. We spent 3 days at Disneyland and 1 day at SeaWorld. My Tio and Tia and Abuella and Papa went with mommy and me. It was the best 3rd birthday ever.

Halloween 2009

Here are some pictures from Halloween yesterday. What a day it was....We started the morning at one shopping center and trick or treated there for about 1 hour. We left had lunch, took a nap ad then went to another mall for trick or treating there. We spent a little over an hour there and then we went home. It was time for dinner and then off to trick or treating in the neighborhood. Well I thought she had enough, boy was I wrong. 2 1/2 hours later and a haunted house (not really haunted) but it was definitely awesome later we finally called it a night. It was so cute, she would ring the door bell and start saying trick or treat before they even answered. Then once they answered not a word out of her except thank you when she got her candy. I bought her the Cinderella shoes that light up, so they looked awesome at night walking around the streets. Anyway, I must be doing something right because she is not asking for the candy. I gave her 2 pieces yesterday and she hasn't asked again.. I told her to do a cute pose and this is what I got.
Happy Halloween

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch today with Tio and Tia. Johanah had a blast as last year she didn't do much or understand it. This year she is getting into it as we have decorated the house, picked out the costume (Cinderella) and of course practicing how to say "Trick or Treat". I think this year will be totally fun. Anyway, Johanah is still loving her dance lessons, gymnastics and swimming lessons. Her teacher has mentioned that she is talking more and more (in sentences) in Spanish. There are 2 new little girls and they don't speak English so this is an incentive for her to speak Spanish. We have been doing puzzles with the alphabet and we get to the letter "B" and there is a picture of a little boy, Johanah tells me "mommy I like boys" I think I am in trouble :)
