First Day of School

I can't believe my baby girl started school today. I enrolled her at St. Leo the Great Catholic school. She is in there pre-kindergarten class in order to guarantee her a spot in the kindergarten class next year. The school only has one classroom per grade with a max of 30 students per class. She will be here until she starts high school. The school has a great reputation and high scores for testing. The only downside is he needs to wear a uniform, but the plus side, is it saves me money on clothes. We have had a busy summer, with the amusement park, zoo, picnics, beach days, pool parties, the wiggles show, the circus, disney on ice...can I say SPOILED.......That's ok it is just as much fun for me as it is for her. Next up we have a picnic from my adoption agency and then Disneyland in November for her birthday and whatever else I can squeeze in. Hope everyone is doing great out there and hope to talk to you soon.

May 2010

Well I know I haven't posted anything in a while. It just seems like there is not enough time in the day to get things done. We spent a few hours today at the beach so the first picture is of me and her at the beach. I have now signed Johanah up for cooking class. Those of you who really know me, should know how important this is to me (I hate cooking). Johanah on the other hand loves it and can't wait until the next class. She is still taking swimming, gymnastics, soccer and now cooking. In case you haven't figurered it out yet, there is no time for me to get things done, that's ok as long as she is having fun. Johanah has been asking to go on a plane ride so I booked a trip to LA ( in 2 weeks) to go visit our friends Mark and Evelyn whom we met when we lived in Guatemala. Should be a great weekend and it is only 1 hr 10 min flight for us. Next weekend she is in her first gymnastics show so can't wait. Johanah got accepted into the Catholic school and starts in August. I can't believe how time flies. I was just thinking that last week 3 years ago, I got on a plane to Guatemala to see her for the first time and become a mom. I was told it would only be about 4-5 weeks and then both of us would be coming home, 6 months later and an experience and great friends that will last forever we finally came home. That seem unbelievable that is has been 3 years already.
Anyway, enjoy the pictures until next time.

New Adventures

Well we have been busy with sports and birthdays. We have now started soccer lessons which I have to say are her favorite right now, and we are still doing gymnastics. I decided that we would take a break from dance and swimming this time around so that I can get a feel of what she really enjoys. The month of January was kind of slow for us, it was my brothers birthday and anytime she can spend with her Tio and Tia is the best in her eyes. I am progressing in my Spanish lessons and feel that I am getting closer to being able to communicate when I go back to Guatemala (hopefully by the end of the year). I have put an application in for Johanah for a Pre-K class at a local Catholic school. I can't believe she is only 3 and I am already getting ready for the fall when she turns 4. I won't know if she has been accepted until early April but keeping my fingers crossed. I can't believe they have a screening process for Pre-K class... At the end of this month we are going to see Disney on Ice (for the second time) but this time I got tickets in the second row from the ice, we will see how she likes that. Also the local ice rink (where the Sharks (hockey) practice) are giving a free class for 3-6 year old on ice skating and hockey so we might give that a try as well. Talk to everyone soon
